Petite Anse Hotel: The Questions We Get Asked the Most

Here at Petite Anse, we get asked a lot of questions by guests and visitors about what we offer. We thought we’d put the most popular ones down on ‘paper’ for you to get some answers and so that you can understand more about what it’s like to stay at Petite Anse and what you can expect.

So here goes. These are the most common questions that we get asked:

1. How much is your day pass?

The Petite Anse day pass is EC$180 per person and includes breakfast, lunch and drinks (up to EC$55). You’ll also have free range of the pool and the beach. You can start your day at 8 am with a full English or American breakfast or even a local breakfast. Then enjoy the morning lounging poolside. Order drinks when you want them and then ponder the lunch menu.

Pay EC$280, and you’ll also be able to enjoy the use of one of our rooms for the day.
Please note that the menu options of neither steak nor lobster are included in this price.

You might opt for the lunch only day pass for EC$120 (EC$220 with room).

2. How far are you from the airport?

We are located around 60-75 minutes’ drive from the airport. The service we use charges US$61 per couple for the journey. Yes, it’s a bit of a distance, but when you reach this end of the island, you’ll see for yourself why our guests happily make the journey. The air is fresh, usually with a breeze and it would be a rare thing to see a traffic jam. The people are warm and welcoming, and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The view is also one of the best you can get on Grenada. We may be biased but you can judge that for yourself when you arrive.

3. How far is the nearest town?

The nearest town to Petite Anse is Sauteurs. Located just 2 miles away, it’s the perfect walk to get some exercise. Otherwise, we are happy to drive you up there. You can buy snacks, gifts for those back home or just experience life in a typical Caribbean town.

Recommended gifts include:
• Nutmeg syrup
• Guava jelly or jam
• Local rums
• Bay leaf ointment
• Cocoa sticks or balls to make hot chocolate with none of the additives

4. Are there any hiking trails in the area?

There are many, and we have the information that you need to enjoy them. You can choose the length and how challenging it is. Also, we also offer a Sunday morning hike when guests can walk to the next village to the south, Duquesne. Quite often residents including expats will join the walk and provide fascinating information on the flora and fauna you’ll see along the way.

5. Is the beach safe to swim?

There are times when the beach is safe to swim, and there are times when it isn’t. There is not a lifeguard on duty, so the decision will be yours to make at the time. On occasion, the sea is very gentle, but we do usually have a powerful onshore breeze which tends to make the water choppy, and on occasion, it has large waves. We always tell guests that our beach is wild, and the waters here are the same. However, if the sea isn’t for you, then our pool is very tame!

6. Can we get from Sauteurs to Carriacou?

Currently, the answer is no. There is not a ferry travelling from Sauteurs to Cariaccou. However, in the future, this looks like something that may be available. Watch this space.
