Grenada Beaches : Part 4 Bathway Beach

bathway-beach-post

With it’s natural reef/barrier, Bathway Beach is one of the most user-friendly of the beaches in Grenada’s north.

White sand, trees for shade and a pretty view make this beach one of those memorable spots that you’ll remember a long time after your holiday in the sun.

There’s an information centre on the beach where you can find out about turtles and the nesting season. That’s all the turtles, Hawksbill, Loggerhead, leather-back and green turtles.

Officially part of the Levera National Park, Bathway Beach is a mile long and it’s right on the Atlantic Ocean coast, to the north east. The reef protects you from those pummeling waves as they hit the shoreline.

It’s a beach that’s popular with the locals and you my find a handful of picnickers there under the shade of the trees, especially during weekends and holiday.

If you’re hungry, try Aggie’s. A pleasant eaterie set in a pretty garden over the road from the beach. You can expect fishy lunches or just stop by for a drink.

Tip: keep your eye open to view the frigate birds, they look a little prehistoric and pterodactyl-ish.

Have you been to Bathway Beach?
