A bit about Philip and Annie

Philip Clift was a cattle and hop farmer whilst in England and also specialised in arranging and hosting shooting parties. He also ran, with his family, the highly acclaimed Talbot Inn and Restaurant located in Worcestershire, England. Eight years ago Philip decided to sell up the farming business and leave the UK to fulfill his dream of living on the ocean. For five years Philip and Annie ran a yacht charter business in the Caribbean after sailing their yacht ‘China Town' across the Atlantic.

Annie, who is a trained psychiatric and general nurse, met Philip in 1990. She has travelled extensively and speaks several languages including French, Spanish and Italian. She enjoyed assisting Philip on the Estate entertaining the shooting parties and continued her role as chef onboard their yacht for several years. Together they appreciated and enjoyed an international style of cuisine and judging by their guest comment books their guests did too!

After several years at sea both Philip and Annie wanted to find a place on land to call home and after visiting friends in Grenada they fell in love with the island and its people. They were drawn to the Northern Coast of Grenada due to its natural unspoilt beauty. Sauteurs, St Patrick's is where they decided they would settle and in May 2008, they married at their lovely Old Plantation House, Mt Rodney. The adventure continues!
